Baldwin Community Schools invites community to celebrate Homecoming

BALDWIN, Mich. — Staff and students at Baldwin Junior-Senior High School are excited to host a variety of events and activities for Homecoming 2022.

The public is invited to cheer on the Baldwin Panthers varsity football team at their homecoming game against Bear Lake High School at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. The varsity volleyball team has a game the night before, playing Brethren at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6.

“These time-honored traditions are a wonderful way to come together as a community and celebrate,” said Superintendent David Forrester. “After the challenges of the last few years, it is truly exciting to come together and celebrate our amazing school district with our students, families, staff, community and alumni.”

A Parent Night will be held prior to the football game on Friday. The event begins with dinner at 5 p.m. followed by a Title I presentation for parents including a review of parent involvement research along with information on parent rights and in-classroom supports that are available to students.

This year’s homecoming theme is Around the World in 80 Days. Students will compete among grades for the Spirit Trophy through Spirit Week events including themed dress days, charity coin wars, hallway decorating and homecoming assembly activities. Money raised through the coin wars will benefit the Bread of Life Food Pantry in Baldwin.

The Spirit Trophy and homecoming king and queen will be announced during halftime at Friday’s football game. Homecoming week wraps up on Saturday with a dance that evening.
